In case you've been living under a rock, Barclays Center home of the Brooklyn Nets opened its doors this past Friday. Yep, the same Barclays Center that took forever and a day to magically appear from an empty lot smack dab in the heart of downtown BK. Bed-Stuy assemblyman...ermmm...I mean...Jay-Z christened the new stadium, kicking off a week-long concert series to celebrate. Though I didn't attend the show, I did make it my business to stop by and pick up some Nets merch. As a hardcore brooklynite I must join the cult you feel me?

Fashion, Fun, and Drinks at EFFEN Vodka's Art Of Design NYC
Unlimited cocktails all night can go two ways- someone hanging off the roof or guests doing their best cookin' dance on a pile of regurgitation. Thankfully for us none of those extreme events occurred. Instead, select bloggers and tastemakers enjoyed endless drinks (responsibly of course) at EFFEN VODKA's invite-only Art Of Design series last night and I was extended an invitation to join. Sweet!

Melody Ehsani x Jeremy Scott 'Arab Spring' Earrings
Jewelry designer extraordinaire Melody Ehsani announced her collaboration with Jeremy Scott for Spring 2013 a few weeks back and she also gave us a backstage peek of the collection. However, Ehsani dropped a gem on her tumblr yesterday of these yummy Arab nameplate bamboo earrings (hence the name of Jeremy's collection Arab Spring). There is no word whether they will be officially released on the website or in her new retail shop but we'll see. Let's just hope my head doesn't explode before then.

Kirna Zabete for Target In The Flesh
Last week luxury retailer Kirna Zabete's collaboration with Target finally arrived. Upon first glance at the collection online I wasn't very impressed. Everything looked very granny, like something for fifty year old women (y'all are fabulous too but I'm just saying...). Rather than letting my computer screen cloud my judgement though, I popped into Target for an up-close examination and was pleasantly surprised. Take a trip with me to the fitting room and view my coveted pieces from the collab.

Feelin Blue
Transition weather is so weird, you never know whether to put on a sweatshirt with jeans or a tank with shorts. The upside though, is we get to play around with a mix of both. That means long sleeved shirts and bare legs or jackets and sandals. Sounds hilarious doesn't it? If you are stuck in a rut, here's a dope outfit that'll keep you dipped as we make the move into cooler temps.

Heavy Rotation: Electric Lady
This past summer ATL songstress Janelle Monae debuted her latest song 'Electric Lady' and I've been bumping it ever since. This funky 70s-esque song is total banger, but don't take my word for it.....take a listen for yourself. You are guaranteed to be jammin in your seat.
All In The Details
Coveted bags, dipped hair, chunky jewels, tattoos, rips in the knee of your trousers; Its the small accents to a look that pulls everything together. Naturally, at the Jeremy Scott Spring 2013 show yesterday attendees held no bars with their accessorizing and Beauty & The Street came through to capture it all. There is never a dull moment when JS is involved. Dive in!

In Living Color
In the words of J.Lo 'Let's get loud'! Autumn makeup doesn't have to be completely dreary. Now I'm not saying you should go all Ru-Paul drag race on us, but a splash of color on the eyes here and vibrant lips there is much needed for the gloomy weather that lies ahead. Budget friendly brand Prestige Cosmetics has a new range of products in intense shades that's perfect to experiment with and I was offered the opportunity to give em a test run. Rather than ramble though, I'll let the images do the talking ;)

Sunday's Best
In between all the New York Fashion Week commotion, one needs to catch their breath and grab something to nibble on. As I stated on twitter, Vogue may have fed Carrie but that isn't going to cut it after running around like a mad woman. Yesterday iFashion Network held an intimate brunch party at a private loft in Chelsea for bloggers, photographers, and professionals to chill out between shows. Guests munched on hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Pop Kitchen, mimosas, and organic refreshments by Ahhmigo to dope house music. Check out attendees' rendition of Sunday's best:

Fashion's Night Out Street Style 2012
The streets of NYC were ablaze last night during it's annual Fashion's Night Out festivities. Amidst the ridiculously packed crowd, there were tons of stylish attendees eager to get in on the action which included free goody bags, endless champagne, and celebrity appearances. From poetic justice braids to retro patterned separates there was a breezy bohemian vibe a la Solange Knowles that dominated the scene.

A$AP Rocky Agrees To Suck Rihanna's 'Cockiness'
According to this hilarious remix of Rihanna's dancehall infused tune 'Cockiness' A$AP Rocky would like to eat her 'flying fish' (a national dish of Barbados). I am sure many admiring male fans are dying to do the same. Fresh off the heels of rumors that these two will be performing at the MTV awards, here is the official track. Love it.

Golden Child
Truck jewelry is a thing of the past, but scaled down versions of gaudy gold jewels are running the scene these days. From big watches to rope chains to thick rings celebrities and fashion whores alike are piling it on with no apologies. It's all about flossin' like its '88 so dust off those huge love knots you got for your sixteenth birthday and get your shine on.
